Stridely Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Stridely ("the app", "we", "us") is a social walking app by WeWebWorks. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. We collect only what the app needs to work.
What we collect
- Account: your Apple sign-in identifier, your Google account's email address and identifier if you choose Google, or the email address you sign in with if you choose email. Apple may give us your email address or a private relay address; we use an email address only to sign you in and never to send marketing.
- Profile: the username, display name, profile photo (optional), daily step goal and time zone you choose.
- Health data (with your permission): your daily step total and daily walking distance from Apple Health, and your daily cycling distance, which we read on your phone and turn into a step credit that is added to that day's step total. We upload one total per day. We also upload your daily cycling distance, which powers the riders' leaderboard and is visible only to friends you share activity with, and a note that you finished a session of a running plan, which is used for StrideCoins and shown to your friends and groups as a milestone with no times or distances. Your workout details and the rest of your running plan stay on your phone. Delete my health data removes the uploaded cycling distance and finished-session notes. We do not upload raw Health samples, workouts, heart rate, sleep, mobility measurements, location, or any other Health category.
- Health data shown only on your device: if you choose to enable them in the app, Stridely can also read activity details (such as flights climbed, active calories and exercise minutes), heart, mobility, sleep and workout information from Apple Health to show you your own trends. This data stays on your phone and is not uploaded.
- Error reports: if the app hits an error, it may send a short report so we can fix the problem. It contains the error message with emails and ids removed, the app and iPhone software version, and the name of the screen that was open. It never contains health data. Reports are deleted after 30 days and when you delete your account.
- Messages: challenge chat and direct messages you send are stored on our servers so the people in the conversation can read them. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Push notifications about a message never include its text. We do not read messages unless someone reports one or the law requires it; reported messages are kept as evidence for review. You can delete your own messages, and all of your messages are deleted with your account.
- Groups: when you create or join a private group, its name, member list, your daily step total and the milestones you earn (badges, streaks, level-ups) are visible to the other members, and group chat messages are stored like other messages. If you set your activity to private or turn off "show in leaderboards" in Privacy, you still appear in the member list but your steps are hidden. People who block each other do not see each other inside a group. Group chat can send a push notification that names the group and the sender but never includes the message, at most once every 10 minutes per person, and you can turn it off in Notifications. Leaving a group, being removed, or deleting your account removes you from it.
- App usage: a simple count of how many times you open the app each day and the time of your last open, used only to understand whether the app is being used and to improve it. It records nothing about what you do inside the app, is not shared with other users or third parties, and is deleted with your account.
- Usage analytics: Stridely records how you use the app's screens, such as taps, scrolls and which screens you visit, using Microsoft Clarity, so we can find confusing screens and fix problems. All on-screen text and numbers, including your steps and other health information, are masked and not recorded, and the data is tied to a random identifier, not your name, email or account. This recording is part of how the app works and has no in-app switch; because it is masked and not linked to your account, we cannot find or remove one person's recordings, and deleting the app stops it. Recordings are kept by Clarity for a limited time and are not shared with other users. We do not use it for advertising.
- Camera: if you choose to scan a friend's invite code, Stridely uses the camera to read the QR code. Nothing is recorded or saved.
- Photos: when you tap Save on a share image, Stridely adds that image to your Photos. It asks for add-only access and never reads your photos.
- Social activity: friend requests and friendships, challenges you create or join, challenge chat messages, groups you create or join and their invitations, cheers you send or receive, your privacy and notification settings, and users you block or reports you file.
- Rewards: your StrideCoins balance and history (virtual points with no cash value), XP and level, achievements, and the cosmetics you unlocked or equipped.
- Notifications: a push token for your device if you turn on notifications, and the notifications we send you.
- We do not collect your contacts, precise location, advertising identifier, or browsing activity, and the app contains no advertising. The only third-party analytics is the masked usage analytics described above.
Why we use it
- To show your steps, streaks and records, rank you on leaderboards, run challenges and calculate their scores, deliver friend and challenge features, send notifications you asked for, keep the service secure, and detect unusual activity (for example impossible step counts).
- Insights, goal forecasts and weekly comparisons are calculated on your phone from your own synced history. They are not sent to any AI service or third party.
- We do not use your health data for advertising, marketing, data brokering, or any purpose unrelated to the features above. We do not sell your data.
Who can see your information
- Your username, display name and photo are visible to other signed-in users who search for you.
- Your step totals are visible only to your friends, and only if you leave "Share my steps with friends" on. You can turn that off or hide yourself from leaderboards in Profile.
- People in a challenge you joined can see your challenge score and read the challenge chat.
- Your level and equipped cosmetics (avatar frame, title, nameplate) are visible to people who can already see you: friends and people in a challenge with you. Your coin balance and history are private.
- We do not share your health data with anyone else.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, Apple Health and push delivery. Google provides Sign in with Google, only if you choose it. Expo delivers push notifications on our behalf and builds the app. Microsoft Clarity processes the usage analytics. These providers process data only to provide those services.
Keeping and deleting your data
- We keep your data while your account exists. In the app, open Profile to "Delete my health data" (removes all uploaded step history and stops syncing, keeping your account) or "Delete my account" (permanently deletes your profile, steps, friendships, messages, notifications, and challenges you created).
- Reports and block records may be kept briefly to keep the community safe, and they are removed with your account.
- You can also withdraw Apple Health access at any time in iPhone Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.
Security
- Data is encrypted in transit. Access to each table is restricted by the signed-in user's permissions, and scores are calculated on our servers rather than trusted from the app. No system is perfectly secure, and step data from Apple Health can be edited by its source, so rankings are for fun and are not independently verified.
Children
- Stridely is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the account.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your profile, change privacy and notification settings, block or report users, and delete your data in the app. To ask for a copy of your data or for help with any request, email us.
Changes
- If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where required, tell you in the app.
